The Power of Self-Discipline - More and Better

What is the  difference  between  those who manage to start and finish the things they propose and those who do not ?

Today we will talk about the  most important quality to achieve your goals .

Self-  discipline or will power  is associated with  sacrifice . To be able to  stop doing something you feel like doing something you know you have to do.

You can read books on productivity, take a course on online marketing, learn about design or any subject that interests you, but it is useless if you are not able  to really apply that knowledge  to  make it tangible .

Most people have dreams, goals, they want to live better. But as soon as they realize that it  takes effort  on their part, everything changes. Few are those who are willing to sacrifice part of their present for a better future.  Few are willing to stop going out on a Saturday night to stay working on their projects, or get up early on a Sunday to do, for example, a course.

Don't you realize that sacrificing a few months, a year or two, or even five or ten years of your life is NOTHING compared to what you might have afterwards?

Obviously there are  different levels of objectives  and each requires a  different effort , for example:

  • 5 months focused on your blog to improve your resume or earn extra income.
  • 1 year studying English to later go to work in the United States.
  • 5 years working on your passive income strategy to later have a lifetime of freedom and travel.

THE POWER OF SELF-DISCIPLINE AND HOW TO WORK IT

They say that  willpower  is one  more muscle that must be trained . We want to tell you a series of  tips  that work for us to work on a daily basis:

1. Do something every day that you don't feel like

Simple gestures such  as making bed in the morning, washing dishes just after eating or getting up earlier will  train that muscle of self-discipline so that it is stronger when facing a greater challenge .

2. Don't think, just act!

If you've made up your mind to go jogging or hitting the gym every day after work, as soon as you get home, change your clothes right away!

Do it without thinking,  do not give time to that little inner voice that tells  you to stay home,  that for a day nothing happens .

Everything is in your mind , don't think, just act.

3. Always remember the initial motivation

When  we set a goal ,  at the beginning  we have a  lot of desire and motivation  but little by little we get tired and return to the usual habits.

If you have decided to lose weight, quit smoking, or start a blog, it is sure that you will have  moments of weakness . Write the reasons  why you want to do it and always keep them in a visible place or use them when you are tired.

Do not take this lightly, writing the objectives on paper has more power than you think, do not make the mistake of thinking that having them in your head is worth it. Test it.

4. Surround yourself with the right people

This is one of the key points. They say you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Take a look around you and think about it.

It is not a question of belittling or neglecting your friends or family, but of seeking to  expand your contacts with people who share your goals  or have already achieved them. This will give you strength and motivation to keep going and never give up.

We wanted to end with a phrase about the habits that we really like:

"Sow an act, you reap a habit. Plant a habit and you will harvest character. Sow a character and you will reap a destiny »

Only with solid willpower  can you  create habits  that help you  achieve your goals and create your future.
